How to obtain a referral?

Adopt-A-Family provides one-time assistance to each family in a twelve month period.  However, a family may be referred to each program, if needed.

Holiday Referrals are only accepted by a pre-approved list of referring agencies, but you can become one of these agencies by contacting us above or by using our 'Contact' page!

How to make a referral?

Adopt-A- Family is coordinated by the DHSS, Division of State Service Centers, under leadership of the Human Services Council, Inc., a 501c3 advisory board. This relationship allows for a public-private partnership that works to support families throughout the year. Adopt-A- Family is completely funded by individuals, community agencies, churches, and corporations with administrative support from DHSS/DSSC. Therefore, all donations are managed by the Human Services Council, Inc. and 100% of all donations are used to provide direct support to needy families.

Adopt-A-Family receives referrals. Any agency that works with vulnerable families and can verify the family income and circumstance, with appropriate documentation, may refer a family for assistance.  If you are not currently on the Adopt-A-Family list as a referring agency, please contact us using the form below or our contact page for the most updated referral information.
